This is a 501(c)(3) (Tax Exempt) organization. It has a staff of 15 full time paid positions and two part time positions. It is free standing/separate from the Pharmacy State Board, and the State Pharmacy Professional Organizations. However, they are “the consultant on matters of impairment to all medical professional licensing Boards”. It does carry malpractice insurance on their Medical Director with “vicarious” coverage on his staff members. “We refer healthcare professionals for evaluation/treatment then monitor their continued recovery.”

What about funding? The organization does not charge client fees. It does receive funding through license renewal fees. Other sources of funding: Professional Associations (i.e. Podiatry Association, Dental Association, etc... ) Research projects and donations
