Indiana
PRN organization information as
of 7/2006 ************************************************************************************************************************************** This 501(c)(3) (Tax Exempt) organization has a 12 member (volunteer) board with 3 officers (President, Vice-President & Treasurer). It carries general liability insurance. In September 2002, a renewal contract was signed with the Board of Pharmacy, State of Indiana, for another two-year grant to monitor impaired pharmacists. The grant monies are from dedicated funds for impaired pharmacists that are a portion of the pharmacist's license renewal fees collected biannually in Indiana. Preliminarily, we have developed a PowerPoint presentation and present it using newly purchased AV equipment to promote our recovery program throughout the state, while preparing for new board referred clients. Our two state colleges of pharmacy also promote the PRN by displaying our brochure on their intranet for confidential viewing by individuals as well as allowing the PRN to present our PowerPoint presentation to students. During the state association annual convention in September each year, the PRN is given a complimentary booth to promote the recovery program. Volunteers are reimbursed for travel to and from client meetings and for phone expenses incurred while monitoring. Annually, we sponsor one PRN board member to attend the University of Utah School on Alcoholism and other drug dependencies. Clients are self/employer referred or board referred. What about funding? The organization charges client fees: New Clients have an initial $75 administrative fee to pay. New and Current clients: PRN fee is $20 per month or $240 per year not including MRO assessments and UDS. Other sources of funding: Grants and sponsorships. Active clients include: Pharmacists and
