This organization has a 15 member (non-paid) committee. It is free standing/separate from the Pharmacy State Board. CIPP is a committee of the Kansas Pharmacists Association whose associate director is the staff liaison to the committee. The KPhA also provides other staff support. This organization has a written funding contract with the Board of Pharmacy that is renewed annually. It has enabling legislation: K.A.R. 65-4921 through 65- 4930: “Risk Management” statute enacted in 1986. CIPP does not publish a newsletter, however it does include information in the KPhA monthly newsletter or quarterly Journal.

What about funding? The organization does not charge client fees. (This may soon change.) It does receive funding through license renewal fees: ~ $30,000/year. Other sources of funding: Grants for educational programs.

Active clients include: This program assists pharmacists and pharmacy students who have any illness or problem that could impair their practice. It is not limited to chemical dependency.
