This 501(c)(3) (Tax Exempt) Employee Assistance and Student Assistance organization, with 64 paid positions, has a (non-paid) board of directors.  It is free standing/separate from the Pharmacy State Board and the State Pharmacy Professional Organizations. It does carry general liability insurance, and utilize substance abuse professionals with credentials.

"Pharmacists come to us as EAP clients through a major retail pharmacy chain, 15 hospitals and extended care facilities for which we provide comprehensive Employee Assistance Services. Others are provided crisis support and assessment/referral services at no charge through a contract with the R.I Pharmacists Association."

What about funding? The organization does not charge client fees. It does not receive funding through license renewal fees.
