This 501(c)(3) (Tax Exempt) organization is part of the Michigan Pharmacists Association, and reports annually to
the House of Delegates about their progress. It is free standing/separate from the Pharmacy State Board. A  bill
was passed and they work with Compass Vision, the group that won the bid for the contract from the state. This
program is funded with an increase in the license fees for the 16 professions it services. All pharmacists and
Pharmacy Students sign a contract with the HPRP and they must get in touch with the PHP chairperson,
Marlene Delp Fichter former chairperson wrote: “ I then ask them to take a recovering pharmacist as one of
their sponsors. We have Pharm-Aid (12 step program)) in four areas around the state. In their contract they
must attend one Pharm-Aid meeting per month. The council members (advocates committee) report to me
about their progress. For some pharmacists, I must write quarterly reports for the corporation or
state about their progress, otherwise their recovering pharmacist sponsor writes the report.”

What about funding? The organization does not charge client fees. It not receives funding through license
renewal fees, but the HPRP does.

HPRP serves 16 different professions
