The Iowa Monitoring Program for Pharmacy Professionals (IMP3) believes pharmacy personnels' professional skills and reputation do not have to be damaged as a result of impairment if monitoring and supportive services are put in place at an early stage. IMP3 is designed to confidentially assist pharmacists, pharmacist interns and pharmacy technicians with obtaining the necessary help for a successful rehabilitation from substance abuse as well as mental and physical disabilities.
The IMP3 was established in 2016 to monitor and support pharmacists, pharmacist-interns, and technicians who report problems with mental health, physical disabilities or drug and alcohol abuse or dependence.
