Duquesne University Mylan School of Pharmacy
A Student Program:
H.E.A.R.T. (Helping Educate And Rehabilitate Together) is a voluntary organization offered through
Duquesne University’s Mylan School of Pharmacy in Pittsburgh, PA. This organization is composed of
concerned pharmacy students who have an interest in or have been affected by the problems associated
with chemical dependency. H.E.A.R.T., established in 1990, intended to increase awareness and
educate pharmacy students about the disease of chemical dependency in hopes of diminishing the
prevalence among pharmacy students, pharmacists, and the community. The H.E.A.R.T. organization
remains active to the present day by holding monthly meetings which consist of a variety of programs,
speakers, and visits to 12-step meetings in the area.
